Gamma-Manchester-Reception-Refurbishment

Gamma combine voice, connectivity and mobile services to deliver unified communications to commercial businesses.

With plans to develop their growth and people strategies, they identified a need to enhance their workspace.  With fierce competition in Manchester to attract the most talented professionals, they understood the importance that an engaging office environment would play in bringing the right people into the business.

After delivering a successful project for Gamma at their Glasgow office, they entrusted Opus 4 with the design, management and delivery of their headquarters building at Manchester's Trafford Park.

With more than 300 people working in the building, it was important to create a space that allowed teams to work efficiently, productively and in harmony.

The brief was focused on creating an engaging, inviting environment with functional work areas, collaborative meeting spaces and plenty of multi-function social spaces for time away from the desk.

An eclectic mix of furniture products were selected from some of the UK and Europe's leading manufacturers.  Hive - a striking, informal meeting space from Senator's Special Products Division -breathed life into the open plan desking area.  Frovi's collaborative workbench Relic, with hanging plants, provided a focal point for team meetings.

The Malthouse building has a large, double- storey atrium to the reception area, which allows light to flood in.   We complemented this by creating a stunning, full-height moss wall feature, flanked with natural oak slats.

Slatted oak wall features were used on each of the three floors, to zone and define team areas and multi-function spaces.  Ceiling-hung acoustic panels were used to reduce noise pollution and biophilic design principles were applied throughout.  An abundance of carefully positioned potted plants, combined with natural wall and floor finishes to create an open, airy feel.

Just a few weeks on from the project completion, Gamma were already seeing the benefit of the refurbishment, with the social spaces getting great feedback.

We received a 100% client happiness rating in our customer feedback survey.
